Floating down the river
on a raft
carried by the calming waters
or riding the rapids
away from
the beepings
the blinking lights
the din of traffic
we are alone
with the roar of the river
the lap of the shore
the vastness of the cloudless sky
bounded only by the steep rock walls
of a canyon
