FALLING LEAVES
I hear the leaves
falling by my window
bouncing off the roof
drifting to the earth
softly
my thoughts and hopes
of the year past
lying on the ground
never to return
some have lived, though
flown to the sun
and beyond
now memories
to last my time
on this earth
