to decorate the earth

MARCH WINDS
March winds remind me
of when I was a child
in the little room
in grandfather’s house
snuggling under the covers
while powerful forces
buffeted the walls
whistled in the eaves
conjuring up
ghosts restless in the night
while I lay safe and loved
in the shelter of my family
