Antiquities inspire us to imagine
worlds in the past
with folks like us
toiling on a mountainside
pausing
to wipe sweat from the brow
to absorb the grandeur of the mountains
pausing for a hunk of bread
or a chunk of cheese
not considering the world to come
where while some things change
they always stay the same
