The astonishment
of coming upon the sky aflame
stretching to the horizon
of coming upon
a valley filled with mist
below a perfect rainbow
or a field of tulips
ripening in the sun
the sky, the earth, the air
lift our small body
to great heights of delight
to fill our days and nights
